Quad MT-30 High speed Matrix Tray Handler

The Quad MT-30 High speed Matrix Tray Handler offers random-access QFP, BGA and TSOP component presentation for Quad “Q” Series assemblers running the QSoft-2 operating system. The MT-30 tray-fed component capability utilizes minimal feeder space and enables you to take advantage of the assembler's largest board size and throughput capabilities.

MT-30 Features and Benefits

The MT-30 is CE compliant and attaches to the right rear of the assembler. It requires only 13-8mm tape feeder positions, one-third the feeder space required for the full tray presentation. The MT-30 design does not interfere with the assembler’s variable rail position. The unit also has a return parts conveyor that removes rejected components. The MT-30 uses a Servo/encoder axis motion control design for smooth, closed-loop movements of the transfer head and component shuttle. A unique caster and lifting system makes the MT-30 portable and easy to set up. The “cover interlocking” feature will automatically shut down the MT-30 and other component feeders on the assembler to virtually eliminate unproductive wait time. This enables you to take advantage of the highest throughput capabilities of their “Q” Series assemblers.

During operation, the MT-30 lifts the tray carriers to the head pickup level, and then extends the carriers in the Y-axis direction for pickup. The transfer head moves to the X-axis position to pick up the component. After picking the second component, the MT-30 transfer head places the components on the pedestals, which then shuttles them into the assembler for pickup. The assembler’s head then moves to the component shuttle to pick up and inspect the components for placement on the board. The assembler head places rejected parts on the MT-30’s return parts conveyor for removal by the operator.
